December 31, 2006I officiated my first wedding.It was … strange? I was all nervous. I was on camera which contributed I’m sure, but I usually have no issues with doing whatever comes to mind on camera. Perhaps it was the fact the there was a specific function I was shooting for here. I wanted it to be just right. I hope it worked out for everyone like they wanted it to. WeddingIn theory, tomorrow I will be performing a wedding. We shall see how that works out. It will be between a long time friend of mine and a guy I don’t yet know. Best of luck to them. December 29, 2006Contracting again.I’m back to contracting. Doing a basic sysadmin/security gig right now. Not the most glamorous gig I’ve done, but the price is right. Good money, but it doesn’t come quickly. I bill a guy who bills a guy who submits a request to get a check cut to pay the guy who then cuts a check to be deposited to an account to then cut a check to be deposited into another account to then cut a check to me. Good times. A lot of red tape between me and my cash. I’ll see it one day, I’m sure. My helicopter. Still OOS.Alright, the folks over at exceedrc.com are being less than helpful. They are half assedly responding to my support requests (phone calls and emails), but always in a way that seems to be geared more toward wearing me down and getting me off the phone than in actually coming to a resolution and getting me flying. The latest is that they believe that the dip switches on the back of my control might be set wrong. That’s all well and good. I have no reason to believe they are set correctly. What these folks refuse to do, is let me know what the defaults are. They will tell me they think the settings are wrong but won’t let me know what they should be. Great. Thanks guys! The main rotor won’t spin up. I’ve tested the motor to be good, and the transmitter/receiver for all of the other channels is working fine. Not entirely sure what the skinny is, but I am working with the manufacturer to try and figure that shit out. Hopefully I’ll get it resolved in the short term and get this thing flying. Damn.
