Here’s a clue folks.

If you decide you are going to call up the police and feed them a line, here’s a few tips.

1)  Have your story match your injuries.

If you were restrained by one individual while four others beat you with all their might, have some damage. If you don’t have any damage, tone the story down a bit.

2) Have your story match your enviroment.

If you ‘were struck in the head with a bottle such that the bottle shattered’ … there should be broken glass present. If there is no broken glass present, either produce some *BEFORE THE POLICE/EMS ARRIVE*. Or you could just dump the broken bottle part of the story?

3) Stick with your damn story.

If it comes out that there are discrepancies in your story (See 1 and 2 above), do not change your story around to correct that. Roll with what you’ve got. Learn from it and tell a better story next time.

Damn. In four more days the insanity will begin. Go to closing on the new place on Friday and will be actually moving in two Mondays later. I’ve got some plans in place to get net access to the place in the interim. I’ve setup a pfSense box and got it ready to install at the new joint. We shall see how that works out. It may or may not be the answer long term.

Right now, the only thing my natd box does that pfSense doesn’t do out of the box that I could see was handle PXE booting. I’ve header rumor that the ability to enter those dhcpd options is buried in the GUI under some advanced tabs. If that’s the case, I’m sold. It’s a sweet device. The lastest version is in ‘Release Canidate’ stages right now. I suspect that by the time I am moved out there it’ll be ‘production ready’.

So I needed to take my oldest out of the house and keep him busy for a number of hours today. Wife needed to get some packing and such taken care of. I knew of a fair happening this weekend halfway between our old and new houses. I advise him of this and we get on our way.

As I’m just about there I notice the signs advertising the fair are down … the few that remain let me know that it ended yesterday.

I call my mom and ask her if she is aware of anything else in the area. She advises that the next county over is doing theirs as well. I made some calls while en route to pick her up to come with us and determine that the other fair was a week prior.

This is no good. All the while the boy is asking when we will get to the fair.

At one point I tried to convince him that an old mom and pop restaurant was the fair. He was not fooled. He’s been to fairs before. He knows that some of them have rides and some of them don’t. All of them have a hot dog on a stick and carny folk.

In the end, he was satisfied by a ‘Kay Bees’ golf set. He loves that fucking thing.

I did the boy’s birthday party today, and after that was done I took both the boys to another kid’s birthday party.

Good times man, good times!

These kids a nuts from the sugar. I suspect they will never sleep again.

Nearly in the new place. Doing the boy’s birthday this weekend, cause we will be in the middle of a move next weekend when it actually is.

Dipped outta work early today to assist in transporting the wife of a friend of a friend to the hospital. She’s got Lou Gehrig’s disease that shit is no good. She wasn’t doing well. Sleep tight guys. Damn.
