Ran another assault. This time patient claimed to have had ‘the shit beaten out of’ her. There were zero external signs of injury, but she pulled out the magic words. ‘Neck and back pain’ gets you back boarded. It’s not comfortable. Nobody likes it. Everybody gets it.

Here’s the cherry though. On the way to the ER, she asks about my boy. I’ll admit that made me a little nervous. How does she know about the boys? I subtly put my hand on my lucky stabbin’ knife just in case it’s about to get hairy. That was pretty assinine as I’ve still got her backboarded. She’s not going anywhere quickly.

Turns out she works at a store I regularly take my boy to when he deserves a treat. They have a DIY milk shake machine there that he loves to use. Wonky. I wasn’t expecting that shit. She’ll be fine. So will I.
